The Network tab is useful when you're behind a proxy server but you still want to use background maps. TopoXplore can connect through a password protected proxy server or if there are no need of authentication, you can leave those fields blank.
The Network tab contains the following controls:
Host: IP address or URL of the proxy you want to connect
Port: The port you want to use for the connection
Login/Password: The username and password for authenticating on your proxy server
